A Bhojpuri singer in Rupandehi performs a wedding song her great-grandmother taught her, a song that exists nowhere but in her memory.
The Dehat is a new kind of institution: a newsroom, a think tank, a cultural archive, a music platform, a sports programme, a language preservation project and a school. Not separate departments, but one organism, rooted in a single conviction: that rural life deserves the most serious, most honest and most creative attention we can give it.
